This page explains what ProducerDash collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep as little as we can, and we never sell it.

Who we are
ProducerDash is run by ProducerDash LLC, a small software company. We make Mac apps for church production teams and run producerdash.com.
The short version
- Most of our apps do their work on your Mac. Your videos, scripts, sermons, meetings, audio and captions are never uploaded to us.
- We need your email to give you an account and to send you your apps.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card number.
- We count website visits without cookies and without storing anything in your browser.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not run ads.
What we collect and why
When you visit the website
We count visits so we know which pages help people. To do that, our server works out a visitor key for the day from your IP address, your browser details and a secret value that changes every day. Your IP address is never stored, and the key cannot be traced back to you or linked to your account. A new day means a new key.
With each visit we save the page you viewed, the site you came from, your browser, device and operating system, the link tag in the address if there is one, and your rough location (country, region and city). To find the rough location, a lookup service checks your IP address at the moment of the visit, and we keep only the place name.
We also save a few simple clicks on the site, like playing a demo, without any name attached.
To stop floods of fake traffic, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address for one hour, then delete it.
When you create an account
We keep your email address, your first name if you give one, and when you joined. We use them to sign you in, show you your apps, send you account emails, and greet you by name.
We also keep which apps you downloaded and when, your account page settings (like whether Dash, our guide, is switched on), and notes we keep from support conversations so we can help you well.
If you are invited to a beta before you have an account, we keep your email on the invite list.
When you sign in, sign up or reset your password on the website, a bot check runs on that page. It sees your IP address and browser details to tell people from bots.
When you buy an app or leave a tip
Stripe runs the checkout on its own page. Stripe collects your card, billing details and email. We never see or store your card number.
Stripe tells us what you bought, how much you paid and the checkout reference, and we save that to your account so your license works. For tips we save the amount and the email you gave Stripe so we can say thank you.
When you use our Mac apps
Signing in and activating. Most of our apps ask you to sign in. When a Mac activates, we save a code that identifies that Mac, its computer name, the app and the date. This is how each app knows it is licensed and how you can see and remove your Macs under My Devices. When you start a free trial, we save that Mac's code, the app and the start date, so each Mac gets one trial. When an app is online it may confirm its license with us, sending your sign in and the Mac's code. A free trial checks in each time it starts.
Usage stats (ProducerDash and PrompterFlow only). These two apps tell us when they are opened and, every few minutes while they run, that they are still open, along with the app version and the Mac's code. This is linked to your account. It never includes your service content. It is on by default and you can turn it off in the app's Settings.
Service logs (ProducerDash only). When a service finishes, ProducerDash can save its service log to your account so you can see it on producerdash.com. A log holds the service time, the order of service items and their timing, any notes you wrote, livestream viewer counts, and wireless mic dropouts. It is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings. The online copy is deleted after 14 days, and you can delete one sooner from your account page. Your Mac keeps its own copy.
Send Feedback. If you send feedback from an app, we get your message and the app's name. Some apps include your account email so we can reply.
Update checks. The apps check producerdash.com for new versions. This sends nothing about you.
Things that never leave your Mac. ProducerDash's talkback audio and the text made from it. CueCap's audio, captions and translations. ThumbnailFlow and ClipFlow's videos and photos. DeckBuilder's sermon documents and decks. PrompterFlow's scripts. Stage Plot Viewer sends nothing at all except feedback you choose to send.
Features that talk to someone else, only if you set them up. If you turn on ProducerDash's livestream monitor, your Mac asks YouTube for your stream's viewer count using your own YouTube key. If you choose ESV in DeckBuilder and enter your own ESV key, DeckBuilder asks the ESV service for the verses you referenced. These go straight from your Mac to those services, not through us.
When you email us
Emails you send to support@producerdash.com are kept so we can help you and follow up.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. We use a few trusted service providers to run ProducerDash: our database and app downloads, payments, email, a bot check on our sign in pages, and a rough location lookup for website visits. Each one only gets what it needs, and our database is in the United States.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies, and we do not store anything in your browser to count your visits.
When you sign in, your browser keeps your sign in session so you stay signed in. The site also remembers which notices you have already seen. Both are needed for the site to work and stay on your device.
Stripe's checkout page is run by Stripe and follows Stripe's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Website visits and app usage stats: deleted twice a year, on January 1 and July 1, so they are kept for about six months at most. We keep only overall totals, with nothing that identifies you.
- Service logs online: 14 days.
- Abuse protection records: one hour for the website, one day for failed app sign ins.
- Your account, purchases, tips, activated Macs and downloads: as long as you have an account.
- Trial records: kept so each Mac gets one trial. They hold a Mac code, not your name or email.
- Support emails: until we delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the data we have about you,
- fix anything that is wrong,
- delete your account and the data tied to it,
- give you a copy of your data in a common format,
- stop using your data for something you object to.
Email support@producerdash.com. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email on your account. You can also remove your Macs under My Devices and delete service logs yourself on your account page, and turn off usage stats and service log sync in the apps.
Deleting your account cannot undo payment records that Stripe must keep by law.
In the EU and UK: we use your data to provide the account and apps you asked for, to meet legal duties like keeping payment records, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the apps working, secure and improving. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
In California: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You will not be treated differently for using your rights.
In Canada, Brazil and Australia: you have the same rights to see, correct and delete your data. Write to the same email.
Where your data is stored
Our main database is in the United States. If you live elsewhere, your data is sent to and stored in the United States. Our providers protect these transfers with standard contract terms.
Children
ProducerDash is made for church production teams and is not meant for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
